I think this is a question that is the most important to ask yourself. I did it for me and I realized that who I was, was not the person I REALLY wanted to be.

Did you ever watch TV and see someone that you said, “this person, I would have loved be like her”, maybe not on TV, but I’m sure you did.

Picture Yourself In 40 Years
Now, please imagine a scene please. Imagine you at the age of 60, looking back to your life and realizing that you have not been the person you wanted to be the most. Moreover, I can say that what you will see looking back is the person that you have hated for your entire life. Please, really do it, visualize, close your eyes and imagine yourself on a couch thinking about your life and what you achieved, and who you are.
Now, come back to the present and try to see what actions you know you should take to be the person you really want to be but that you don’t undertake. Be careful, I’m not saying that this is that you don’t WANT to undertake these actions but that there is something inside of you that keep you from achieving what you really want.
Now, to take these actions I knew I should undertake, thinking about my goals was not the best way I found, at least for me. For example, I ran for 3 months 45minutes to 1hour every single day. My motivation was: I want to loose weight. While I was running, you could see pain on my face and sometimes even anger… It was really not a pleasure to do it, but I decided that I had to do it. I stopped because of one day slip and I never did it again.

Notice The Pattern, Break It And Replace It
Then, now, I run every day between 20 to 30 minutes and I walk for one hour to walk my puppy (shiny J), but do you know what have changed? What I have in mind when I do it. This morning, I was thinking, “oh I’m tired, I don’t want to run” and then I felt aware of this thought and I decided to break the pattern by thinking about WHO I WANT TO BE. And automatically, I had the image of the person I was that I HATE and that is lazy to do sport and I said to myself, I am not this person anymore, what I am now is the person that is energized, that is tonic, and that run every single day because it is a lifestyle!

You Can Be Who You Want To Be Right Now
And this time, running was so enjoyable, I had energy, I felt that I was at this very moment the person I wanted to be for all my life.
Don’t do the mistake to think, “doing this will lead me in 3 month, 1 month or whatever to who I want to be and to my goal”. For the brain to be able to give you the energy you need to stay motivated and to feel your best, you really need to feel right now that you ARE this person, because doing this thing, makes you instantaneously be the person you want to be. No need to wait, it’s now! The role models you have could be doing exactly what you do at this very moment. So, this means that now, you ARE the person you want to be.
And I think now that I finally understand what is the meaning of “You should feel like you already have what you want and be who you want to be in order to get it.” that I read in a lot of books. Now I understand because even if my goal is not achieved yet technically, my best goal is achieved. And that goal is to be who I want to be, I want to be proud of me and not to feel like someone who I see in the mirror and want to cry.
Again, I will take the example of you beginning a diet and feeling great the 2nd day even if your weight has just changed of 1 pounds or no pound at all. Is your goal achieved? NOOOOO but what you FEEL has changed and this is all that matter.
This morning, I was listening to Tony Robbins and he said that every single thing we want to achieve is at the end to feel an emotion. He asked me (in the tape hihi J) to try to find something that do not stick to this rule and I have to say that I didn’t find. So, if you want to lose weight, to do sport, to write a book, to be an actor or everything you could want, it is because at the end, you will feel an emotion. And I strongly believe that this positive emotion is very linked to the proud and the happiness you can have to be who you really want to be.
So, it can be yours right now, just decide that you MUST change, if not, it could not work.
And if you know that there is no other way than to change, then, when you see yourself thinking in an old pattern, break it and replace your thought by who you really want to be.
Do not hesitate to tell me what you think and to share this article with the people you love or like J
